In a bunch of pinky piggy dolls, many have been chosen and taken home soon after they are put on the shelf, except for the one that is not perfect looking. It is Banban.
“Why do people just dislike the thing that makes me special?” Banban wonders
(Seeing there’s another one being taken away.)
One day, Betty comes across the shelf when she is shopping with Andy.
“Piggy dolls! How cute!” Betty is so excited.
She picks up every single one on the shelf, looks at them from the bottom to the top, tries to find out the one she adores the most.
She feels like she can’t take her eyes off Banban when she fetches Banban.
But Andy says to her “It has a small stain on its belly.”
“Yes, I know, but I feel like it’s calling me. Why don’t we just call it Banban since it has a small spot on its belly?”
“This is the first time when someone sees my spot but still wants me. Are you the one I’ve been waiting for?” Banban’s world is now turning into as pinky as its skin.
So they buy Banban.
Since that day, Betty talks to Banban every day, and Banban enjoys talking to her as well. Betty looks like an adult, but not the kind that is grown-up. She loves holding Banban and squeezing its body to make Banban looks like it has responses.
“Banban, why are you so cute?”
“Because I am made up of 1% of cotton and 99% of cutiness”
Banban knows it can’t really speak, but it feels like it is the happiest piggy doll in the world when Betty pretends to create a conversation for it.
Sometimes, when Betty goes out, she takes Banban with her. Sometimes, people looks at her in a strange way when she is holding Banban on the street. But Betty won’t notice at all, because she feels she is the happiest girl in the world when Banban is with her.
Sometimes, Betty records Banban. She will put Banban somewhere nice and paints it. She will style Banban and take picture of it. She will film Banban by voicing over it and making it as if Banban is talking. Betty sees it as her living company.
When Betty is sad, Banban will protect her from being hurt.
“Everybody talks because he/she wants others to understand them, nobody really talks for wanting to understand somebody.” Betty is weeping.
“Do you charge me for dwelling?” Andy pretends to be Banban.
“What are you talking about?”
“Can I dwell in your heart?”
“But there are too many evil things inside.”
“There won’t get in if I am in.
“Oh! Come and never let go. It’s totally free for you.” Betty holds Banban tightly like she has nothing but it.
“I think you will come alive one day If I talk to you every day, don’t you?”
Banban gives Betty a smile. ( Banban is a smiling piggy)
Banban knows it comes into this world in exchange of its voice when it is created in this way. Now It really wants to let Betty know it is true that it is alive ever since it was chosen by Betty.
At night, Banban sneaks out of Betty’s arms, and starts its journey to find someone who can help it to realize it’s wish.
